Sources from inside the event, where a crowd of party-goers were waiting to watch a performance by Christina Aguilera, say Nicki was taking a photo with Kelly Rowland and La La Anthony when Cardi walked past. Reportedly, Nicki deliberately stepped on Cardi’s train, which led to a scuffle—Cardi got hit and part of her wig was pulled off. Then Cardi threw her shoe at Nicki—yes, you can see a shoe being removed in the video above, and hear a ‘thwack’ noise as it makes contact with its intended target, or some poor security guard who had to take it.

In a photo exclusively obtained by Cosmopolitan.com, you can see a discarded part of Cardi’s wig, a casualty of the tussle, tangled up with her earring and a finger nail 😱. It looks a lot like Nicki’s nail color, but given the shape and shade, it’s likely someone else’s…

Nicki’s nails pre-fight, which look squared off and less pearlescent than the one in Cardi’s wig, no?

Sources tell People magazine that no arrests have been made following the incident, but that New York Police Department officers are on the scene, and that an “investigation is still ongoing.”

This marks the fifth annual #BAZAARICONS party, where the likes of Lady Gaga and The Weeknd have performed.
